The Multicultural Leadership Institute, Inc.
MLI's programs and activities currently focus on addressing diversity and multiculturalism within the spectrum of health promotion, prevention, treatment, and recovery processes for behavioral health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders, and to address the health disparities and inequalities that exist within and amongst groups. Using comprehensive and inclusive definitions of multiculturalism and diversity, MLI strives to transform the inter- and intra-personal and environmental factors that underlie these disparities and to promote positive change.
Funding
DMHAS is MLI's primary funding source, and in turn, MLI continues to support the state's prevention and treatment services and programs across a variety of areas to address behavioral health service needs, initiatives, priorities and goals. MLI also serves to build community capacity and to advocate for individuals and groups across Connecticut.
