The Multicultural Leadership Institute, Inc. (MLI) is a private, non-profit 501(c )(3) corporation. MLI was established in 1997, in response to the State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services' (DMHAS) efforts "to address the issues of need, accessibility and appropriateness of substance abuse treatment, intervention, and prevention services for ethnic and minority individuals and groups in Connecticut."
