Providing leadership for positive change through multicultural and diversity awareness, education, advocacy, and research.

Each and every communication experience can be considered multicultural, whether it is global or local. The world's and our nation's demographics are constantly changing, as are our state and local communities and workplaces. There will always be a need to develop one's own cultural competency as well as to develop the cultural competency of our organizations and institutions.

Cultural Competency is a process. Becoming more culturally competent means acquiring more awareness, information and skills to work effectively across cultures within the context our own communications, interests, and business professions.

Respecting diversity is not merely about acknowledging and accepting our differences (and similarities), but is also about learning how to manage and work with others in mindful consideration of these differences and of the assets that we all bring.
